News — Inspire ALOHA

It was so refreshing to sit down with Danny Kim and Patrick Sambueno. The dynamic duo, through Aloha journaling and healing calligraphy, offer tools and insight to inspire and spread ALOHA throughout our community.        

Janene and I had such a fun time interviewing Mahina Akaka who is such an amazing, inspiring young woman. Her love for canoe paddling, surfing and hula clearly translates into her ALOHA for the islands and her zest for life.

My dear friend Dianne Wennick attended a global conference on water in Paris last September. She was so inspired, that within 7 months, she wrote, created, directed and produced a beautiful documentary called “Finite Water.” The film won an award two weeks after being presented and is currently, up for many more International awards. Dianne is such an inspiration. Not having any experience in film making, she was able to let go any doubts and fears and follow her heart to manifest her amazing passion project.

It was a joy to sit down with our friend, Ke'ala Kadooka, to catch up and talk story. She is the Senior Learning Manager at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai and gave us a lesson in how she is bringing true ALOHA to Hawaii's tourist industry. It was amazing to be part of the Special Olympics ‘Over the Edge’ event on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Special Olympics, the world's largest sports organization for the intellectually disabled, strives for inclusion using sports, education, health, leadership programs and empowerment.  Spending the afternoon with volunteers, athletes and fellow rappellers was a wonderful glimpse into an organization that is full of positivity and “heart.”  This organization embodies the acronym of ALOHA: kindness, unity, agreeability, humility and patience.
