It was a joy to sit down with our friend, Ke'ala Kadooka, to catch up and talk story. It was amazing to be part of the Special Olympics ‘Over the Edge’ event on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Special Olympics, the world's largest sports organization for the intellectually disabled, strives for inclusion using sports, education, health, leadership programs and empowerment.  Spending the afternoon with volunteers, athletes and fellow rappellers was a wonderful glimpse into an organization that is full of positivity and “heart.”  This organization embodies the acronym of ALOHA: kindness, unity, agreeability, humility and patience. Hawaii born Don King is renowned worldwide for photographic and cinematic images of surfing and ocean surface waves. He is not only a cinematographer, photographer and film director, he and his wife, Julianne King, are huge advocates in the Hawaii Autism Community. Within the first 30 minutes of meeting Brent BecVar, he learned my birth information, and proceeded to give me a Jyotish/Vedic astrological reading.
